SIFF's popular Talking Pictures series added a fun twist this year. Moderated by Nancy Guppy, three local Seattle celebrities were invited to pick and watch their favorite films with a festival audience. Internationally renowned soprano Jane Eaglen chose the 1969 classic, Anne of the Thousand Days, starring Genevieve Bujold as Ann Boleyn and Richard Burton as King Henry VIII. Following the screening, Jane delighted the audience with fascinating stories about the making of the movie, English history, and why this film continues to enthrall her, even though she's seen it over ten times!

SIFF's popular Talking Pictures series added a fun twist this year. Moderated by Nancy Guppy, three local Seattle celebrities were invited to pick and watch their favorite films with a festival audience. World famous glass artist, Dale Chihuly, chose the 1962 western, Lonley Are the Brave. This heartbreaking tale of the disappearing west stars Kirk Douglas, Gena Rowlands, Walter Matthau, and a young-ish Carroll O'Connor. Following the screening, Dale and his good friend, screenwriter Stewart Stern (Rebel Without A Cause, The Ugly American) engaged in a lively discussion and Q&A with the audience.
